FAQ Friday: Being a Role Model
I’ve been getting so much feedback, comments and question regarding my videos, I decided that I’d start to answer some of your questions each week, therefore, FAQ Fridays was born.
First up, I had a great question from my girl Connie: “Do you see yourself as a role model to other women when they tell you encourage them to keep going”?
My answer, as the above video explains, is two-fold…so, both yes and no.
Yes, I am a role model in the sense that I am modeling what I am doing in hopes that other woman see what’s possible for themselves. S0, what does that look like??
First off, I practice what I preach, by:
- Staying fit and healthy by workout out and eating clean
- Respecting my body
- Following the 80/20 rule
- Doing personal development
- Being a certain way in my life …being confdent, being consistent and modeling these if I am asking others to be this way too
My passion can become infectious and I hope that people see the integrity of my values and beliefs behind it all.
And, on the other hand, it’s not only me being a role model that encourages my community to keep moving forward…it’s them and their own actions, and I can’t take credit for that. I often times feel as though I am a pointer to resources that I think will benefit my friends, family or clients, but ultimately their success comes from them taking ownership of their goals and being in action in their lives. If they actually follow some of the items I recommend to them and stay in action, even when life gets tough, they will achieve their goals. It’s like the old quote says, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t force it to drink it.”
