Fitness for Beginners: How to Modify For Any Fitness Level
One of the things that hurts my soul as a fitness professional is when my students or clients say that they can’t do something way before they even try it.
When it comes to fitness, we all have a starting point. We also all have different strengths and weaknesses and may need to modify movements from time to time due to many more reasons that just not having the ability to do something. Sometimes it’s an injury, or muscle soreness, or an weakened area that’s prone to injury. Whatever it is, there should never be a time that one should feel inadequate about modifying a move.
I put together a quick compilation of some examples of the 3 best ways to modify exercise movements for any fitness level:
As you keep up with your workouts you will begin to become stronger in areas where you once saw weaknesses and be able to progress movements once you can perform the move with good form. But don’t expect to ever be perfect…I still modify moves after being a fitness fanatic for well over 20 years and a fitness professional for over 6!
